Overall standings after Game Week 34

Here are the overall standings after Game Week 34

Fedex Superstars (Muhammad Aoun Abbas)  have had an amazing season and have pretty much been in the top 3 for most of the year as different challengers came and went!

The nearest challenger to Muhammad is Mirzini Sinovi  (Samir Kadric) who is also having a terrific season culminating in victory in the FTL Cup Final in a tight battle with Rick's "No AO, No problem".

It was a productive week for Samir as he also closed the gap at the top of the table by 40 points but can a gap of 133 points be closed with just two game weeks to go?

It certainly doesn't like there will be much movement in Game Week 35.  Fedex only have 3 players involved and Mirzini Sinovi just have 2 so it will come down the final game week where Samir may have to consider mixing his team up with Tour Final and Next Gen players to close the gap.

Tricia, Dragan and Anthony make up the top 5 but look to be too far back now to challenge to the title but they do have stronger side this game week so could close the gap.

Monthly standings for October

Massive congrats to Sonja Kessens (AceCream)  who followed up her impressive Game Week 32  triumph by securing the monthly prize for October.

Here is the final monthly leaderboard.

And below is the progress of the top 6 teams during the course of the month.

All of the top 4 teams had two top 10 finishes during the month.  Sonja's biggest challenge going into this game week was from Emi (Wonders of Igaland) but an impressive 6th place finish was enough to leave Sonja clear at the top as Emi's challenge floundered.

Martin (Spotec 23) , Philip (Fritzy Business) , Mohaib (Dr peRFect 2.0)  and Aditya (King of Salem) make up the top 6.

Game Week 34 Results

Ladies and gents, I present to you Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek, this weeks winners and also the World No 1s of the ATP and WTA!  I think it's fair to say they both had a hell of a week!Novak continues to dominate the men's game despite the challenge from the latest "next gen" of Alcaraz, Rune and Sinner.  Despite not being 100% this week, he still managed to prevail in three sets against spirited competition in Griekspoor, Rune and Rublev and it was in fact an old foe that he was to face in the final in Grigor Dimitrov who had an excellent end to the season.  It was the same old story though as Novak saw off the Bulgarian in straight sets.  So its 7 Paris titles for Novak and a remarkable 40 ATP 1000 title.  It defies logic!  Novak hasn't quite secured the year end No 1 but it should be a formality.  Meanwhile Alcaraz will be looking to bounce back in Turin after a disappointing early exit in Paris to Safiullin,It was chaos at the WTA finals in Cancun. The tournament was already under fire from players and fans as construction of the facility on the local golf course was still going on at the very last minute.  Practice facilities were not available, the court wasn't up to standard and to cap it all the weather was awful which is apparently not unusual for Cancun at this time of year!To be fair to the players, they made the best of it and bravely battled on through the wind and rain, the dodgy bounces and numerous stoppages and the occasional DJ malfunction.  It didn't make for great tennis but an enthusiastic Mexican crowd kept them in good spirits. Pegula and Swiatek managed the conditions the best and both went unbeaten in the group stages.  Jess saw off Coco in the first semi final in another match that was affected by the weather with the 2nd semi final between Aryna and Iga rescheduled for the Sunday.Thankfully the weather had improved by the Sunday and it was Iga who took full advantage of the better conditions to show the very best of her tennis. It didn't really lend itself to an exciting semi final or final though as Iga swept aside Aryna in straight sets on Sunday and demolished poor Jess Pegula for the loss of 1 game on Monday.Iga has her number 1 spot back but she knows she will have a challenge to keep a hold of it next year.

Here is the game week leaderboard for Game Week 34.   Congrats to Aditya Sharma who claims his 2nd game week victory of the season and it seems fitting that one of the players who he has stayed loyal to throughout the year - Jess Pegula - played a large part in putting him on top of the pile this week. Although I should also point out that a player who he's not too fond of, played a crucial role in his team too from the dark horse position!

Aditya managed to get a very impressive  658 points which was 14 points more than his nearest challenger Spotec23 (Martin).  Aditya had Paris winner Djokovic as well as semi finalists Rublev and Tsitsipas as dark horse.  (How did Stefanos drop in value so much that he became a dark horse pick!?)  Aditya also had all 4 semi finalists in Cancun!  In addition, both Aditya and Martin made the inspired decision to bench Medvedev and Zverev this week.

So its congrats to Aditya for an amazing week and to Martin for running him so close.  Adnan (Advantage Infinity), Christopher (Titanium Pigment) and Derek (Canuckaducks)  make up the top 5.
