Game Week 30 - Final Results

IGA BITES BACK

After an incredible 2022, Iga's position at the top of women's tennis has faced a lot of challenges this year.

The Sabalenka v Rybakina final at the Australian Open brought talk of a new big 3 in women's tennis and even though Iga reasserted herself as the French Open Queen, the Wimbledon title was claimed by Vondrousova and Coco Gauff went on a remarkable run of wins which culminated in her winning the US Open and suddenly it seemed we had a big four in women's tennis.

Aryna Sabalenka took Iga's no 1 spot and with defeats to Gauff, her nemesis Ostapenko and most recently to Kudermetova, there were murmurings in the tennis world that perhaps Iga had lost her mojo.

Not a bit of it!

Iga was right back on it in China dropping just one set all week as she cruised to the Beijing title,  The semi final win over Gauff (who had been on a long unbeaten run)  and the final match against Samsonova must have been particularly satisfying and no doubt Iga will be looking to claim that no 1 spot back in the very near future!

It was another strange old week in FTL with only one WTA tournament for us to concentrate on but there were valuable points to be had for those who picked the right team.

And Nikhil Idnani definitely did pick the right team and won the game week in even more convincing fashion that Iga winning Beijing.

Here is the final table:

Nikhil amassed a total of  624 points in the game week which was 50 points more than the rest of the pack!  The battle for 2nd place was actually pretty tight with CooCoo for Coco Gauff (Shane) snatching it by 0.45 points from Lucky Losers (Brigitte) in third spot. New Cal Aces (Mat) and Goaldies (Sagar) took 4th and 5th spots. Well done to all of you!

So here is the very impressive team which won the Game week for Nikhil.

His Captain Iga Swiatek won the title gaining Nikhil a mighty 181.20 points in the process.

His TP Samsonova was runner up and his KPs Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina were the losing semi finalists.

In addition his third KP Sabalenka and TP Garcia were both quarter finalists.

That all adds up to a pretty good game week and who cares if dark horse Krejcikova flopped in the 1st Round!

Congrats to Nikhil on a terrific week!

GAMEWEEK 30 AND GAMEWEEK 31

Happy to report that GameWeek 30 came to a close earlier today in Beijing as Iga Swiatek beat Liudmilla Samsonova in the Final.  All results for GameWeek 30 have been input and verified.  Later today, GameWeek 30 will be closed, and everyone will have access to set their lineup for GameWeek 32.

Plz note, I have recently input every result from the 5 days of play in Shanghai, and have also input the Qualifiers from Shanghai, Seoul and Zhengzhou.  (Hong Kong's Qualifying got pushed back a day due to severe weather conditions).  As a result, we are fully caught up (FINALLY).

I know the past few weeks have been absolute chaos, but good luck in GameWeek 31. Sadly the WTA continues to do us ZERO FAVOURS as there were 20+ withdrawals from their 3 events this week.  (including some extremely high profile ones as Gauff, Rybakina, Muchova and Vondrousova all withdrew from Zhengzhou)

Game Week 28 draws

We now have all the draws for Game Week 28. The events taking place this week are: ATP Chengdu ATP Hangzhou WTA Hua Hin WTA Seoul Remember ...
