SWIATEK WITHDRAWS FROM MIAMI!!!

Iga Swiatek has withdrawn from Miami.  Sadly this withdrawal has come well after the first Main Draw match took place, so the draw will not be eligible to be adjusted.  It sure puts a massive hole in the top part of the draw.  Hard to believe but in an Masters 1000 event played on a hard court, one of the following players Julia Grabher, Claire Liu, Nao Hibino and Martina Trevisan will make the R16!!!

In terms of FTL, her withdrawal puts many managers into a difficult situation where you are forced to have an Emergency Replacement come in to take her place.  How did you handle your ER selection this week? Did you carefully select who was listed at ER1 and ER2 or did you only concern yourself with your 8 player lineup for the week?  Sadly, a player withdrawing from an event isnt as uncommon as you would think, so its important to make the selection of those ER positions a priority.

Because we are in the midst of an FTL Cup week, the ER replacement for Swiatek, will probably be a huge part as to who wins their H2H matchup.  It might also be a huge factor in who moves forward for the next round of the FTL Cup.

Game Week 7 Final Leaderboard

Women's tennis seems to be in pretty good shape if the last week and a half of tennis is anything to go by. We had three slam champions and the eternal semi finalist (Sakkari) make the final four and it certainly appears that Iga has a real challenge on her hands in the shape of Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka. Elena dismantled an "injured" Iga in the semi final and managed to keep her composure in the final to see off a misfiring Sabalenka.

In the men's event Carlos Alcaraz showed us once again why he is the brightest talent in men's tennis by playing some quite ridiculous tennis in a week where he defeated Kokkinakis, Griekspoor, Draper, FAA, Sinner and Medevedev without dropping a set. It brought to an end a remarkable 19 match unbeaten run for Daniil but given how much he hated the Indian Wells courts, this was a very succesful week for him!

Congratulations to our game week winner Marc Sab and "The Champs". This was a high scoring week all round as the top players really came to the fore so to win this game week you needed to have a really strong team. Marc had all four finalists plus semi finalists Swiatek and Sinner as well as decent supporting roles from Quarter Finalists Norrie and Fritz (who's contribution turned out to be fairly crucial).

Marc pipped Pete Schaumann into 2nd place but major Kudos to Pete and his team selection and placement. He had Alcaraz as Captain and Medvedev, Sabalenka and Rybakina as KPs as well as semi finalists Tiafoe and Sinner. Ultimately he only missed out because his other players Garcia and Pegula didn't perform as well as well as Norrie and Fritz.

The level 2 prize goes to 1st Round Loser. He also had all 4 finalists as well as 2 semi finalists but ultimately fell short due to the early exit of Holger Rune.

Congrats to all!

Website Improvement: Trade History

An improvement was made to the MY TEAMS section on the website - Trade History.  It shows every trade that you have made for the current season.  It not only lists the player that you traded in/out, but it also lists their Price at that specified time period and lists what Game Week you made the trade.

In order to use it, simply click the down arrow on Trade History, and if you dont need it anymore click the up arrow and it will hide it.

It is located on the right on your desktop and between the list of your leagues and your team on an IPad or Phone.

I have attached My Teams Trade History from the 2022 FTL season.
