Here are the results for the FTL Cup semi finals.
The first head to head was Faris (Golden Slammers) against cup specialist Pete (The Bestest). Unfortunately a missed lockout left Pete with a rather threadbare provisional team and he really needed his ERs Shnaider and Samsonova to bail him out....which didn't happen!
That all being said, it would have taken a pretty herculean effort to overturn Faris this week, Golden Slammers actually finished 5th for the game week with his two picks of Muchova (runner up) and Qinwen Zheng (semi final) both significant contributors to a healthy total.
The other semi final between The Parisian King (Aditya) and Team Le Tourneau (Sindre) proved to be a much closer affair. Sindre got off to a bit of a slow start thanks to the withdrawal of his dark horse Ostapenko which enabled Aditya to push ahead with the points he accrued from Gauff.
However Sindre had a couple of aces up his sleeve in the shape of Badosa and Zheng. The key turning points in this tie was the match between Badosa for Sindre and Pegula for Aditya, After Badosa won that tie convincingly, everything else seemed to fall into place for Sindre as he overhauled Aditya to take the tie and also finished a decent 13th place for the game week.
So there we have it folks, the FTL Cup has provided plenty of thrills and spills once again and I hope everyone who participated enjoyed it.
We now have our finalists:
Golden Slammers versus Team Le Tourneau
Congrats to Faris and Sindre for making it to this stage.
The final will be played during Game Week 32.
(ATP Basel, Vienna.....WTA Tokyo, Guangzhou)
